Arthur's Family
He was born Arthur Herman Warner on May 9, 1906 in Leadville, Colorado to Allan and Anna Warner. His early years were spent in Worley, Idaho where he fished and hunted. One day he and a friend rode their horses out to Coeur d'Alene Lake, taking with them enough food for two days. His mom had packed many things to eat, including cornbread, which he disliked very much. The two boys ate all their food by the end of the first day, except the cornbread. By morning, they were very hungry. By noon they just knew they were starving and were going to die, so they finally ate the cornbread. It tasted so good, that it was one of his favorite foods ever since.

Arthur obtained an education at Yakima Valley Academy and Walla Walla College where he received degrees in Education and Theology.

On August 24, 1927, Arthur married Mae Pearl Ogden. They had their first kiss during the marriage ceremony. They settled in Viola, Idaho, where they both taught school. Some of their students were only a year younger than they were.

Arthur accepted a teaching position at Upper Columbia Academy where he taught Bible and Biology for several years. Later he became an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist church and pastored at many different churches, including the Omak District (Brewster, Tonasket, Orville, Coulee Dam), Wenatchee, Walla Walla District (Dayton, Touchet), Ephrata and Colville.

They adopted Gary Lee, who was abused and abandoned by his birth parents at age two. Later, they adopted Terrill Anne from a single unwed mother who could not take care of her. They had a total of 6 grand-children.

Arthur enjoyed photography, camping, gardening, and taming "little" wild things like chipmunks. One day while traveling in Montana, Art stopped to take some pictures of some bears. As he was engrossed in taking the picture, another bear sneaked up behind him. Arthur jumped up, turned and slapped the bear right across the face. No one knows which one was more afraid...him or the bear. They each took off in separate directions, hoping to never see each other again.

One of Arthur's favorite snacks in the evening was popcorn dipped in whipped cream. Try it - you might like it.

One of his favorite places to go was up Aeneas Valley where he had several interesting escapades, including going over a cattle guard too fast with a whole meal in glass dishes in the trunk, accidentally burning down a friend's barn and roasting marshmallows over it, and sighting many animals including bear, deer, moose, skunks and cougars.

Cancer of the stomach and spreading to his liver, bones and lymph system has laid this precious soul to rest. He is survived by his son Gary Warner, and daughter Terrill Wagner. Arthur is loved by so many! He now rests at Mountain View Cemetery in Farmington, WA.
